How To Adopt

Thank you for your interest in one of our homeless dogs, puppies, cats or kittens.


We believe that each of our pets should receive the very best veterinarian care for as long as they are a part of our Big Canoe Animal Rescue family. All of our homeless animals are treated like our family pets. Recycling our pets again is not acceptable. It is important to us that you and your pet be a good match.


A successful adoption makes everyone happy.

Standard Requirements for adoption

Some Exceptions Are Made Depending On Circumstances

Applicant must be 21 years of age

Agree to a home visit

Agree that the dog/cat will be a family member
and not an outside dog/cat

Complete an application

Own their own home

Complete an application

Children should be over the age of 5 so they can help care for their new pet
